One of the principal sponsors of the 5to Concurso de Marchinhas is the Linha Amarela (LAMSA/Invepar) and so part of the programming was a Rio Maracatú parade in a community along the Linha Amarela. This year it was in Del Castilho - which happens to be the same place where Curta na Praça was held, and where many of the images that would become the set scenery for the Awards Ceremony (see post below) were shot.
This little guy is pumped because he won a CD of the Concurso de Marchinhas!
I always love photographing Rio Maracatú, but I think that some of the best pictures were of the people watching the parade:
